Professional Development Curriculum

Training is designed to help align social studies lessons to Common Core State Standards. Teachers bring back methods and activities to teach history through analyzing primary and secondary sources. Departments can choose from a variety of lesson designs that serve specific Common Core Standards.

Training is designed to increase students’ literacy skills through history lessons. Teachers leave with methods and activities that emphasize student comprehension, vocabulary, writing, and speaking skills.

Training is designed to ultimately teach students to efficiently use background knowledge through contextualization when being assessed. Teachers will learn how to build assessments tailored to End-Of-Course Assessments and classroom needs.

Training is designed to raise teachers’ content knowledge. All history topics are tied into individual State Standards and Curriculum Maps.

Training is designed to ultimately teach students to think critically through inquiry-based designs. Teachers use a variety of engaging lesson designs, which teach history through collaboration, decision-making, analyzing, and simulation.
